What is unusual that you see a person without cell phone. Every single person has a cell phone be it the normal keypad phone or a smart phone of old or new model. These devices have completely changed our lives and the way we communicate. It presents us the easy modes to communicate that are cheap also. Sending text messages, reading emails, playing games, reading and editing documents all has become so easy and comfortable. It would not be an exaggeration to comment that if leave home without a wallet it is manageable but moving out without a cell phone is so difficult. Invention of cell phone is definitely the most phenomenal inventions of the modern age.

4]EASE YOUR WORK- Earlier to pay bills of electricity or phone or to book tickets you had stand in queue for such long hours and waste so much of time. There was a situation where you had gone out for your favorite blockbuster and in spit of standing in the line for an hour you could not get the tickets. Wastage of time and resources. With the cell phone you can pay your bills at a go and book the tickets from the comfort of your home. Easy and quick. Shop vegetables, groceries or even clothes from the comfort of your home from any country of your choice that too at the time you wish to do so.

I completely believe that it is one of the biggest boons that the world has ever seen. And all I can say is that haters will hate, so what is your take on this?

What is more fun being a child, teenage, married, grandparent?

Bhale cheen lo mujhse meri jawaani , magar mujhko lauta do bachchpan ka saawan….a beautiful song true for me word by word. You may be wondering and pondering why? I have done thesis on this topic and here are a few reasons for which I would like to get back to my childhood.

There is no denial to the fact that childhood is the best part of life for every human being. Childhood and innocence are synonyms. Not only the word innocence but fun at its peak and carefree life are also synonym to childhood.

Childhood is the best part of life when you are either the little man or little girl in your parents life. There is nothing that worries you, all you are concerned is about the celebrations of your birthday or attending your friend’s birthday or at the most planning celebrations of some festivals. You are never concerned of your future goals or what will I do tomorrow? It never concerns us what will happen if I do not wake up early tomorrow morning. The future has no important significance for us. All we are concerned is about present and what we are doing to day. Childhood phase sets us free from all the constraints of the real world. We do not have any responsibility on us.

My childhood was all the more special as I come from a joint family set up. With grand father who would shower the love of both grandmother and grand father on me( I did not have grandmother)on me, to uncles and aunts who would fulfill all my wishes. Most importantly bunch of kids as cousins who tend to be my best friends till date as we were the first friends for each other. Playing pranks on each other or gearing up for the celebrations of festivals, or taking permission from each other’s parents. We were totally partners in crime. Deciding the destination of picnic or setting up lottery for deciding the venue. Even we had a small democracy at our home and majority wins was the rule. Although it was simple as to get vote bribe would be two pieces of chocolate or a new eraser at most. All the childhood memories will forever stay close to our hearts and bring a smile on our face whenever we think about those good all days. You grow up amidst all love and care in the nut-shell. Nothing worries you.

Kids are considered as form of God on the Earth and my family truly believed in it. My whole family helped me in growing in to a better person but they instilled humility in me. Learning the basic values of sharing and compassion or listening to the stories of courage or righteous behavior from our grannies made my childhood so special.

If my one wish would be granted I would like to return back to my childhood and enjoy the games of snake and ladder, or dark room secret or just sail a boat in the rain, or just sit in the round table conference to discuss the most silly matter. My childhood was the golden period of my life and the childhood memories are a part of my heart that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Stop Comparing Your Child!

When 2 parents meet the first thing after greeting each other all they talk about is Comparing the Child!. The comparison is the most common way to judge the performance of the child. It generally starts with comparing their weight, height, marks and what not. you use the same information to boost your child by saying see Tanu aunt’s daughter has scored 95% but this is the worst way to encourage your child. Stop Comparing Your Child!

A parent should understand the fact that each child is different, one can be artistic the other can be excellent at singing. Basically, a fish cannot fly and the bird cannot swim.Everyone has their own set of talents which should be acknowledged and motivated by the parents.

Stop comparing your child, it has a very bad effect on them when they grow up. you may consider comparison as a way to instigate the competition in the child, you may consider it as driving force to increase the performance but it doesn’t work that way. Comparison is the worst thing, which a parent can do to their child.

Here are some negative effects of comparison.So, Stop Comparing Your Child!

1. Building Up Stress
When you compare your child to other kid, your child feels burdened and you are indirectly pressurizing the child. This can have an adverse effect on the kids overall performance and they might be stressed.

2. Lower Self Confidence
When your child is being compared to others, your child believes that they are lower than others and others are always the best. They conclude themselves as incapable of doing anything since they cannot meet the expectation of their parents. The comparison can badly damage the self- esteem and confidence level of growing child.

3. Runs Away From Taking Responsibility

If you are consistently taunting your kids by comparing them with others, they will run away from responsibility. Because at the end of the day they are going to be insulted for their act. They will also avoid public interaction as they consider themselves as incapable and worthless.

4. Unrecognized Talent
your child may be an excellent painter but you want them to be an athlete because some other child is an excellent athlete.They will suppress their talents because they understand that it is never going to be appreciated. The painting talent will go totally unrecognized.

5. Avoiding Interaction
The child will clearly distance you from their parents since there is a lot of negativity build up by the parents. It is very clear to them that they are not going to get any appreciation from you and you will hurt them. The kids get usually insecure and avoid interaction with the parents.Eventually, it can lead to developmental issues. Some kids also have behavioral issues and aggressive nature.

Positive Approach to nurture the child
1.Create a benchmark
Appreciate each and every effort of the child. Let the child be his own competitor. This will increases the confidence.

2. Support them during the weak time

Always support and encourage your kids when they need help and guidance.

3. Praise their performance

Even if your child has scored the 3rd position and not 1st, praise their
efforts and hard work.

Food

Methi Paratha Recipe with Yummy Yummy Chutneys

I love fresh Methi or Fenugreek leaves.  Methi Paratha is an absolute favorite breakfast during winters at my home.  I mean come on do we Indian need be told about bow to make ‘parathas’, we’ve been making (or having) one or the other variety of Parathas for breakfast each day. Moreover after i learned the health benefits of methi leaves from my father, my fridge has a dedicated section for it. Basically it helps to control diabetes, cholesterol level, improves heart health and cures constipation and join pain.

Methi  paratha can be made easily. Bunches of fresh methi are very sandy and must be washed thoroughly under water before using them. Once cleaned – cut off the roots, separate the leaves and discard the stems. Combine coarsely chop methi leaves, with flours, spices and knead it into a soft pliable dough.

Step by Step Preparation
Ingredients
1) Methi Leaves
2) Aata
3) Besan
4) Ajwain
5) Lal Mirch
6) Salt
7) Butter

How to make it
Mix All Ingredients together. Slowly add water and start working on the dough. Do not pour all the water at once. You may need more or less water depending on how thick or liquidy your curd was. Once the dough starts to bind together add water very slowly. Finish the dough up by adding 1 tablespoon of oil and form it into a smooth round ball.

Dough is ready. Let’s begin rolling our parathas. Make golf size balls out of the kneaded dough. Roll them in dry wheat flour. Lay it flat on a platform. Before we start shaping the ball, heat a tawa or griddle over medium heat. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough out into a larger circle.

Transfer rolled out paratha onto the heated griddle. Cook from one side and flip. Apply butter and using a spatula cook from that side. Flip and apply oil on the uncooked side, spread it over the paratha, press and cook until brown and fully cooked. Transfer it onto a plate and repeat the process with the remaining dough. Serve them hot with coriander chutney and Garlic chutney..

Tips
1) Firstly, to make soft paratha also add 3 tbsp of besan while preparing dough.
2)Methi paratha stays fresh for longer time when kneaded only with curd and not water.
3)Additionally add finely chopped onions and green chili, to make it more flavorful.
4)Finally, methi paratha is very healthy and good for digestion.

Will My Vegetarian Child Face Nutritional Deficiencies In Future

We both as a couple are pure vegetarian since we belong to the marwadi community.We have passed on the same values to my daughter. my little one is totally an animal lover and hates when animals are harmed. Additionally, she is also not very fond of the strong smell of all non-vegetarian food. But, I also agree with the fact that vegetarian food diet is not enough to fulfill the child's nutritional requirements in the long run. They may require growth nutrients and minerals which are available only in non-vegetarian food sources.

Ultimately the question Will My Vegetarian Child Face Nutritional Deficiencies In Future rings up in my mind and you may think majority of us grow up being pure vegetation and all are doing good. They why suddenly this question. But, with the time , change in lifestyle and environmental factors the nutritional values of food items are getting low
day by day. We need to pay a hefty amount to buy organic and pesticide- free food, which may or may not be even trustworthy. The vegetarian food available today is no longer fresh and are genetically modified. All this is totally unsafe for the child.

My biggest concern was to ensure the best practice for healthy vegetarian eating in food. I don’t want to force feed my child at the same time I don’t want her to grow up with inadequate nutrient values. I have replaced the
non-vegetarian items with healthy alternatives so that my child does not face any nutritional deficiency in their growing years.

1) Protein
Growing kids require a good amount of protein, the vegetarian food options like cheese, paneer, tofu, soya chunks, curd are a great source of natural protein. They are yummy as well as healthy protein options. Apart from this, you can include legumes, lentils. These are commonly available at Indian households and you can always sneak it into your child’s diet.

2)Calcium
Milk, soya beans, ragi, sunflower seeds etc are loaded with natural calcium sources and are excellent for bone development. They can be easily digested and you can include them in kids diet .

3)Iron
Iron-rich food is extremely important for overall growth and development of the brain and other vital parts. you can include spinach, dates, raisins, ragi into the child's diet to increase their hemoglobin level. Additionally, you can also give fruits like gooseberry, guava to your child they are loaded with Vitamin C and it helps to increase the iron absorption in the body.

4)Vitamin A
Vitamin A is very essential for eyesight and overall vital organ development. Load your kid’s diet with red and yellow bell peppers, carrots, tomato ect. Vitamin A is best to boost the immune system of kids.

5)Omega 3 Fatty Acids
Omega 3 fatty acids are very significant for the brain development.Vegetarian food options like flax seed, walnuts, canola oils are loaded with natural omega 3 fatty acids.

6)Iodine
Iodine is crucial for the mental development especially in kids to avoid health issues like a goiter. you can include natural unflavored yogurt, iodine salt into the meal of your child.

The Annoying Advice Always Receive

We live in a world where everyone has some advice to give it to others. Be it eating healthy or settling in life, people will bombard you with useless and junk advice everywhere. Some people prefer to dig their nose into other’s business and they considered themselves only on earth with brains. But, it is majorly the other way round which they fail to understand every time.

The world is filled with idiots only a sensible set of people roam around who prefer to mind their own business. An advice and loan should never be given to others unless it is asked for. Several people fail to understand this common thing.

Here is The Annoying Advice Everyone Gave Me, and it was totally at random place.

1. When will you get married?

Really? Why should I answer you? Are you going to pay for the wedding outfit or for the food? Okay, at least are you going to sponsor for my honeymoon trip??.I guess this is the most common advice each and every girl receives on their graduation day or after finishing education. The total number of congratulation messages are unfortunately less.
2. Watch what you eat else you will put on weight
I mean how does it bother anyone. I think nobody should question me unless I am literally taking the food from their plate. Being a grownup adult, it is very obvious for me to have a bigger appetite. In fact, I love to enjoy and eat each dish. It is just me and i serious get annoyed when someone advised me to watch what I eat. Not buying your piece of crap.

3. When are you going to have kids?
I have literally stabbed those people in my mind some 100 times who have asked this question. If it is for some close friend of mine, I answer them “until we run out of our condom stocks”. It is totally my husband and my choice to start a family, why should I even tell you about my personal things? We will start when we are ready. Anyway, you are never going to pay the hefty school fee of my child .. right ?? any sponsors there ??

4. Breastfeeding is the best way to lose the baby weight
Oh, this is my favorite when it comes to annoying advice. After breastfeeding my child, I eat like a hungry pig and I actually gained a huge weight . I was only eating almost everything on earth. This is the worst advice for those ladies who cannot breastfeed their little one. weight loss is only possible with clean eating and proper exercises, we all need to face the reality.

5. Parenting advice

First people advice you with different conception methods and then they want to take classes on parent and upbringing your child too. They advise you on everything starting from feeling, bathing, peeing, pooing and what not. I don’t know from where they have actually gain all the knowledge . I think some people got advice for every parenting need and they can gladly write a book.

We all must be surrounded by those advisers who volunteer themselves to sort out all your issues in no time with their golden advice, but my sincere advice to them is please stay away, we actually are not interested in your peace of advice.

The first anti obesity day campaign was launched by VLCC an Indian wellness brand by Vandana Luthra. The campaign was focusing on the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits to prevent obesity and stay fit and healthy. The anti- obesity day received wide media coverage and became very popular. On this day mass counseling sessions, health camps, talk shows with health experts, educational events etc are carried out.

It was about anti obesity day but let us first try to understand what is obesity. Medically obesity can be defined as a medical condition in which the excess body fat has accumulated to this extent that it may cause serious health problems. Obesity reduces life expectancy and increases the likelihood of heart diseases, diabetes, osteoarthritis and other diseases.

Each and every individual desires to be good looking and fit in the outfit of their choice. Having a stunning figure is desired by all individuals. Living the life of obese is not easy.
